The Elizabeth Snyder-Continental Chapter, NSDAR, helped to save the house from demolition, restore it and open it as a museum.

Chapter Dedications

George Washington Bicentennial Community Christmas Tree
New Market School, Piscataway, New Jersey
​Dedicated 1931.
A Norway Spruce was planted in preparation for the 200th anniversary of Washington’s birth in 1932.

New Jersey Tercentenary Tree 

Drake House, Plainfield, New Jersey.
​ Dedicated 1964.
A Red Oak, the state tree, was planted by the chapter on the front lawn of the Drake House to mark New Jersey’s 300th anniversary.
