Built by Isaac Watson in 1708 and recognized as the oldest house in Mercer County, this historic landmark is located at 151 Wescott Avenue, Hamilton Township. Originally set on 800 acres, it is situated on a bluff overlooking the Watson's Creek in John A. Roebling Park, just outside Trenton, the state capital of New Jersey.
The Isaac Watson House is located at 151 Westcott Avenue, Hamilton, New Jersey. Watson House is easily accessible from Route 206, heading towards Trenton. Bear left through the White Horse intersection, and stay in the left lane (South Broad Street). At the fourth traffic light, turn onto West Park Avenue. Continue through two intersections, then make a left turn onto Westcott Avenue. After passing under high-tension wires, make an immediate right turn onto the lane that leads to Watson House. Parking is available in the parking lot, inside the chain link fence.
Watson House is open to the public for docent-guided tours each spring and fall from 1-4 p.m. on the second Sunday of April, May, June, September, October and November.
These open houses are a great family or individual outings. Those planning to tour Watson House should wear sneakers or flat rubber-soled shoes; high heels are not permitted. The first floor of the Watson House is handicapped accessible.
